Training for Tutors- Leading a Technology Mini-Course

This training workshop will help prepare tutors to lead a technology mini-course. Registration is now closed.

Each tutor will receive a copy of the course and have a chance to practice activities they will use with their students. Tutors should bring their laptop, tablet, or smart phone.

Training is open to tutors from any program that is piloting the mini-course. It will be offered:

About the technology mini-course

This 8-lesson, 16 hour mini-course is designed to help students practice the technology we use in everyday life- whether they use a computer, tablet, or smart phone. It is organized into three units:

Communicating with People

· email, evites, email security & management, calendars, texting


Searching the Internet & Finding Resources

· web searches, internet security, filling out forms, finding resources


Documenting Your Life

· photo archiving & sharing, using the cloud, intro to social media
