Become a Literacy NJ volunteer tutor and help adults in Union County improve their reading, writing and speaking skills

The Tutor Training Program consists of five workshops which will provide trainees with the tools and strategies necessary for working with adults in one of three categories:   English as a second language, High School Equivalency or Basic Skills. Tutors will focus on four main areas of content:  Listening, Speaking, Reading, and Writing.

Thursday, February 15, 2018         7:00 PM – 9:30 PM

Thursday, February 22, 2018         7:00 PM – 9:30 PM

Saturday, February 24, 2018          9:30 AM – 12:00 PM

Tuesday, February 27, 2018            7:00 PM – 9:30 PM


Trainees are required to complete ALL 5 sessions to receive a certificate from LNJ and be matched with a small group of ESL, HSE or Basic Skills students.

2/13, 2/15 and 2/27  will take place at the Cranford Community Center, 224 Walnut Avenue, Cranford, NJ 07016

2/22 will take place at Summit High School, Kent Place Blvd, Summit, NJ 07901

2/24 will take place at the Elizabeth Public Library, 11 South Broad Street, Elizabeth, NJ 07202
